Travelling to the 2018 UCI Road World Championships

Travelling to Tirol

Car, coach, train or plane – however you travel, reaching the 2018 UCI Road World Championships in Innsbruck-Tirol is fast, easy and comfortable. Innsbruck Airport has excellent connections to airports around the world and is served several times a day by some of Europe’s largest airlines. Alternatively, visitors can fly into Munich Airport or Zurich Airport, which are respectively two and three hours by car from Innsbruck. The Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) operate a comprehensive train service from all directions to Innsbruck main station.

Local travel using public transport

Public transport is the best way to get from A to B during the World Championships. We are working closely with the regional public transport operator Verkehrsverbund Tirol (VVT) and the city public transport operator Innsbrucker Verkehrsbetriebe (IVB) in order to ensure a smooth and fast service throughout Tirol during the event.

Ticket: All visitors with a ticket for the finish area are entitled to use public transport throughout Tirol free of charge on the day of the event. Click HERE to buy tickets.

The World Championships IVB & VVT Ticket: For spectators who want to follow the World Championships action from the side of the road or in the fan zones while at the same time doing their bit for the environment we have come up with a fantastic offer. From 22.09. to 30.09.2018 there is the World Championships IVB & VVT Ticket, a nine-day ticket for the price of a normal weekly ticket. The ticket is valid on all buses, trains and trams in the city of Innsbruck and throughout Tirol.
